We continue to see a rise in the number of Higher Education organisations engaging in online video for their marketing and communications. Producing regular, shareable content for your website, YouTube channel and social media platforms is a not only an effective way to communicate and update current students and staff, it is also a great approach in enticing prospective students to study with you.
One example of an organisation actively engaging in online video is The University of Northampton, based in the UK. Identifying the opportunity to creatively interact and attract students, they implemented a strong and consistent brand strategy with the help of UK agency Engine Creative.
The marketing strategy was to find a unique and memorable way to communicate the diversity and scope of activity along with the achievements and successes of the University.‘Transformed.Inspired ‘was first developed as a national TVC using slow motion imagery to represent the impact of a moment of ‘transformation.’ The commercial was designed to shape their reputation into a highly successful, innovative and quality University. The ‘Transformed.Inspired’ message united all brand communications within the University and became the energy and passion behind their marketing and communications.
Along with a comprehensive ongoing multimedia campaign they produce regular videos and campaigns for anything and everything! #ListItLiveIt is a social media campaign developed to encourage the audience to share their bucket list aspirations – delivering a message to drive viewers to do something for themselves today that they will appreciate and thank themselves for in the future – (like perhaps enrolling in a new course!). Each year a new animation video is also created to showcase the values, culture and mission of the University.
Developing interactive, targeted marketing; keeping up to date with trends, the latest social media and developing fresh ways to engage and communicate your message will retain the interest of your audience as well as attracting new students and employees. There are endless opportunities to use online video – so if you are feeling inspired take a look at some of the videos we have produced for the Education Sector here.
