Yarra City Council’s eScooter Safety Campaign

Challenge

Yarra City Council approached Creativa with the need for a social media safety campaign targeting eScooter users, as they initiated trials within their local government area (LGA).

Solution

Their idea was an animated’ sheriff boot’ enforcer set in a spaghetti western-themed film, designed to appeal to the young eScooter rider demographic prevalent in the City of Yarra.

The vision was to create a quirky yet impactful message that would seamlessly fit within popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Our team embraced the challenge, diving into conceptual artwork and script brainstorming. We converged on a storyline portraying a showdown between a rogue eScooter rider and the authoritative boot.

To enhance the theme, we integrated classic spaghetti western elements like animated cacti, tumbleweeds, bell tolls, and a Sergio Leone-inspired face-off.

Execution involved an exhaustive day of shooting across various City of Yarra locations. The post-production phase saw us infusing both 2D and 3D animations. Furthermore, casting the perfect voice for the boot proved to be an entertaining task with a plethora of talented options.

Outcome

With the unwavering support and collaboration from the Yarra City Council team, we were able to bring this vision to life within an 8-week timeframe, delivering a compelling safety campaign from script to screen.
