MGI Golf: High-tech golf buggies for the modern golfer
Author – Ted Janet
MGI Golf is a world-leading innovator in the field of electronic golf-buggies, trusted by golfers across continents. Their diverse product range across two lines – the Zip Series and the AI Series – set the standard for ease and efficiency on the golf course.
These are exceptional products. Communicating their value to a savvy golfing audience could not be done through a mere explainer, or by listing features. To showcase these buggies, we would need to create excitement. A thrill.

The Challenge
Bring the buggies to life. That was the brief. A dynamic, fast-paced video series that didn’t just list features, but lit up the imaginations of golfers itching to get back on the course. It’s about the specs, but more than that, it’s about performance, precision, ease. An MGI Golf buggy is what every golfer wants, no lugging, no pushing, so they can focus on their game. Every buggy has different features, so we would need one video per buggy, and one hype reel per series or product line.
Our Creative Approach

Two product lines with seven products, all up. Each individual product had its own personality, its own visual approach, with recurring visual themes for each series. The Zip Series would have a clean, modern look. The AI Series meanwhile, would need to evoke a future feeling, with simulation grid backdrops and a ‘binary code’ motif throughout. To achieve the right energy, we opted to use multiple visual approaches, all at once. In studio: we captured every buggy, against green and blue screens, from every angle. On location: we hit the greens, so audiences could see the buggies in action. We added aerial footage too, captured with drones, for a real epic feel.
Kinetic text and variable graphics: building on the brand of MGI Golf, we made sure to use text and motion graphics in a varied, dynamic way. Notice how we highlight features, or how text seems to break out of its own borders. This is part of the message: these golf buggies are innovative and break out from the limits of what we think is possible. Studio footage, on-location and aerial, as well as text and motion graphics, edited together to upbeat, energetic music tracks combine to create a high-end, fast paced video series that capture the essence of MGI Golf’s AI and Zip Series lines.
For the on-location scenes, we also had the privilege of working with professional golfers, AFL players and media personalities. These individuals were happy to be featured in the video. Their presence will no doubt delight golfers and sportspeople in the audience. Overall, we created an exciting, fun environment to help showcase how MGI’s products work in real-life situations.
The Impact
The videos position MGI Golf as the premium choice for golfers looking for functionality, form, style and forward-thinking design. These assets are now key pieces in MGI Golf’s marketing toolkit, used across digital campaigns to drive awareness and conversion. Beyond the website, cutdowns and shorter form versions of our videos were distributed widely across marketing and social media channels, once again demonstrating how multiple, diverse deliverables can be sourced from a single, well organised production.

Behind the Scenes: Crafting the Experience
The MGI Golf buggy video series was a team effort, spearheaded by our multi-talented Senior Creative Producer, Andrew Mazzocato.
It was Andrew’s very first project with Creativa. Suffice to say, he blew us all away. Script and storytelling were developed collaboratively by our senior team working closely with MGI Golf. Design and Creative Direction credits go to Sarah Schwab, and Monica Ip, Head of Animation.
Thank you to both Jeremy Pitman for his technical expertise with production and visual SFX, and Animetrix Labs for having us collaborate together in their space.

In-house specialists Will Archer, Connor O’Keane and Thom Ruz completed the editing, motion graphics and compositing.
On-location production took place at Peninsula Kingswood and The Eastern Golf Club, where Director of Photography Lliam Murphy and Camera Assistant Wye Keen Wong supported Andrew, in capturing the live footage on site.
